A. Program (Jen Miller) – Insert is being prepared for Senior Night.
B. Concession (Cathy Meise/Brenda Mittereder/Emily McClure) – MWA has purchased a Sam’s Club membership so that the individuals who do the shopping for the concession stand can pay with an MWA check. Michelle Witman has made arrangements to have the kitchen available to prepare food for the tournaments. She will also help with ordering food at bulk costs. After conversations with Witman at a match, Witman will contact contractors/ companies to obtain contributions toward the cost of food for the tournaments. For a $50 contribution, the company will be posted on the webpage. For larger contributions, a larger acknowledgment will be posted. Posters will also be made to place around the school for the tournaments.

F. Fundraising
o Lottery Tickets (Kochinsky/Barb Simmons) – A profit of $6,615 was
made on the 2005 lottery fundraiser. For
2006, only 445 tickets have been sold compared to 675 tickets in 2005. As of today with current payoffs, the worst
case profit is $75.
o Basket Bingo (Miller) – scheduled for April
30.
o Raffle Tickets – if we want to do, will need to find volunteer.
G. Banquet (Miller/McClure) – Need to get date; if the same format is used as last year, it needs to be stressed to elementary families that they do not have to stay for the junior/high school portion of the banquet.
H. Senior Night/Recognition (Miller) – Scheduled for January 26 - letters have been distributed to senior parents.
I. Volunteers (Demko) – Sign-up sheets for various items are available at matches for individuals to sign; a mailing has been sent stressing the need for volunteers to sign-up for home matches and the tournaments.
J. Awards (Miller)
K. Elementary Quad Meet (Bill Simmons) - Need to get a date.
L. Junior/Senior High Parent Night and Pictures (Kochinsky)
M. Publicity/Press & Journal (Miller) – Miller has been preparing articles for the junior high and high school.
N. Button Committee (McClure/Mittereder) – Kochinsky recommended that MWA consider purchasing a button making machine in next year’s budget.
Old Business
· Team Parents – High School (Kochinsky);
Junior High (Kathy Murray)
· Budget - It was suggested that because of
the low number of lottery tickets sold and that no program sponsors were
collected this year, that the purchase of the exercise bikes budgeted be put on
hold until the February meeting to see how much money is made at the January
and February tournaments. There is
additional concern because of the low turn out at tournaments locally that was
mentioned earlier.
New Business
Kochinsky reported that Jen Miller had indicated an interest in acknowledging the Brights during Senior Night. Kochinsky will inform Miller that this type of volunteer acknowledgment has been discussed at previous meetings and. if done, would be done at the banquet and that attention should not be taken away from the seniors.
Next Meeting - The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, February13, at
7:00 p.m. at the cafeteria of the high school.
Adjournment – The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
